The Shop

Our shop is the heart and soul of Carolina Urban Lumber. The hum of an orbital sander, the whirl of a table saw, the screech of a bandsaw coming to life—all singing in synchronous harmony to produce custom pieces for our cherished clients. Where there are some limitations on letting the public roam freely within this sanctuary, we are happy to share our equipment and skills with others for custom projects or orders.

We can take any of our rough sawn lumber and mill it to your specifications.* We can skip-plane, joint, surface, flatten, saw, SFS, glue-up, the list goes on; if it can be done to wood, we can do it. We also offer custom finishing with dozens of wood finishes based on an application's need and use.

Our craftsmen turn local tree logs into custom furniture and heirloom pieces. We understand that some of you like to be involved in the process as well and get your hands dirty. We can do as little or as much as you need us to do with any of our shop services to help you achieve your preferred result.

All shop services are quoted individually based on the multitude of potential outcomes for each customer's need.

*Any outside wood not originating from Carolina Urban Lumber will first need to be assessed with a non-invasive moisture meter and approved by the shop manager before any shop services are performed. Additional kiln drying, metal detection, and costs may apply.
